Good Morning, Folks! We're coming to you with an exciting update from Urban Craft headquarters this morning: we're launching a contest where you can win $20 to spend at *any* vendor at Urban Craft!

We want you to let your friends know how much you love Urban Craft and all our talented vendors. So we're launching a Twitter contest to reward you for what you are already doing: tweeting about it! Between now and Friday, August 3rd, we want you to tweet about Urban Craft and let people know what you're looking forward to. Whether it's meeting our new vendors this month, picking up some baked goodies from your favorite permanent vendor -or- meeting up with friends at the show like you do each month, we want you to let the world know what you love about Urban Craft!

The person with the most tweets about the show at 11:59pm on Friday, August 3rd will win a $20 in Urban Craft bucks to spend at the show!

The fine print:

It's A Hit & A Winner

Helllllooooo everybody! Well...we are happy as clams over here this Monday morning. The October edition of Urban Craft was incredible and we're so thankful to each and every one of you that came out to see us! It was a chilly day but we had a really fantastic turnout and we're pleased as punch! We're already looking forward to November!

Last month we had a little contest going where if you checked into Urban Craft on Facebook, you could win a gift certificate from our lovely sponsor, Victoire! It turns out that technology was conspiring against us because as it turns out, we weren't able to access the names of the folks who checked in. We were super bummed. Cue sad faces. So we set out with another plan to get some Victoire goodness into your hands.

So we did a little drawing for the gift certificate at the show this weekend and had a whole slew of entries! Yay! And now...for the winner. Drumroll, please!

When we first moved to Ottawa and was searching for businesses that really celebrated all the things I loved--independent design, holistic business practices, celebrating community and helping other small businesses, I was overjoyed when I stumbled upon Dalhousie Street. Home to the ever-inspirational Workshop Boutique, Milk and Canteen (R.I.P.), I immediately fell in love with so many stores on this street.

From the beginning, one of the stores that struck me as doing things so right in this town was Victoire. The store--owned by two lovely ladies named Katie and Regine--had developed a store that contained so many great designs in the form of fashion and accessories. Not only that, Katie and Regine and developed a store with such a strong identity and aesthetic. I have long admired these two ladies and what they have done.

This past February we had our first opportunity to work with the ladies of Victoire when they came on board to showcase their vintage cocktail dresses at our indie wedding show, Wed By Hand. We loved that they brought such an interesting vintage component to the show -and- that they were so supportive of our endeavors.

Leave it to the ladies of Victoire to step up to the plate once again for us by becoming one of our partners for Urban Craft. Ever supportive, we're so thankful for them. That's all fine and great, you say--but what does that mean for me?
